About Preparedism
Know what to do when the usual stops working.
When the power goes out for days, or staying home stops being the safer choice, a plan that lives in one person's head doesn't help the rest of the household.
Preparedism publishes free email courses that help a household make one decision a day and write it down. Each course takes about 10 minutes a day for a week, and ends with a plan you've tested at home.
What Preparedism is
Calm, practical planning for households, written without fear selling. Laws, services and emergency arrangements differ from place to place, so each lesson tells you what to check where you live.
Everything we publish is general information, not professional, medical or legal advice. In a real emergency, your local emergency services come first.
How the courses are made
Each course is written, then reviewed for safety and clarity before it's sent. Where a lesson depends on a number, such as how much water to store, we point you to your local agency's figure instead of giving you ours.
The household in every lesson
Thomas, Maria, Anna, Patrick and Kujo the pug are fictional. They aren't customers and nothing they do is evidence that a plan works. Their mistakes are there so you can spot yours earlier.
